Established in 1995 by the Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, Grace Institute has over the years focused on urban livability and arts education, with a special emphasis on cultural literacy for children. Since 1997 Grace Institute has offered a vibrant summer camp experience unlike any other in the city. Grace Art Camps, the signature program of Grace Institute, has flourished from one week and 30 children, to seven weeks serving over 1,200 children, in addition to two smaller three-day seasonal camps. For a glimpse into Art Camp, see the Oregonian’s 2011 article, Portland’s Grace Art Camp, a Secular Project with Sacred Roots, honoring our 15th anniversary.

Grace Institute will offer several in-person, hands-on studio art classes taught by Grace Art Camp artists! Each class will strictly adhere to health and safety precautions set by state and federal authorities. (Fall details appear below to give you an idea of the possibilities we are considering.) We will offer a variety of new and favorite art projects in-person, thanks to our new see-through fully-shielded masks. We so look forward to seeing many of you this fall!
